27th Voice – Professor Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, Muleba, Tanzania

This episode features Professor Anna Tibaijuka, MP of Muleba South in Tanzania & former Minister of Lands and Housing in the United Republic of Tanzania.

She is also a former under-secretary-general of the United Nations and executive director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT). She was the second highest ranking African woman in the UN system until her resignation in 2010 to run for political office in Tanzania.

Prof. Tibaijuka obtained her doctoral degree of science in Agricultural Economics from the Swedish University of Agricultural Science in Uppsala. In 2003, she received her honorary Doctorate degree in Science from the University College London. She is fluent in many languages: French, Swahili, Swedish, Haya, and English
